Spring Flowers, Tucson, Part 17b: Bonus Ocotillo!

The Ocotillo on my neighbor’s ‘living fence’ is finally blooming too! I had to stop and snap a few pictures. (Because it’s such a harsh species, if you plant cut sticks in the ground around your yard, it’ll give you a good bit of privacy and it’ll leaf in the rainy seasons and occasionally they’ll even bloom!

As I was walking away someone across the street mentioned that down toward Patagonia to the southeast there’re dense stands of Ocotillo, all blooming right now. It must be a magical sight!
