Spring Flowers, Tucson, Part 1: Silver-Leaf Cassia

Senna artemisioides subsp. petiolaris (link to University of Arizona Desert Legume Project), aka “Silver-Leaf Cassia,” native to Australia but well-adapted to the urban landscape, where they are everywhere. They line long stretches of Silverbell and other roads in Tucson, forming snaking lines of dense yellow blooms.

They have a subtle fragrance, like a sweet warmth.
